Creator Program — South Africa 🇿🇦

Last updated: July 4, 2026
Effective date: July 4, 2026

Circl is built to finally pay South African creators — no Creator Fund waiting list, no country lockout, no algorithm suppression of local content. This page explains how the Creator Program works for creators based in South Africa: eligibility, Subscriptions and Tips, revenue share, and how you actually get paid.

1. Built for South African Creators

Unlike TikTok, which offers no Creator Fund in South Africa, and Instagram, which pays late when it pays at all, Circl lets creators from Johannesburg to Cape Town, Durban to Pretoria and Soweto earn directly from their content — through Subscriptions and Tips, with no minimum follower threshold locking you out and no overseas waiting list.

Circl monetization is available to South African creators from day one. A Creator badge appears on your profile once your Creator status is approved, and your monetization tools unlock immediately after.

2. Eligibility

To become a Circl Creator in South Africa, you'll need to:

3. How You Earn

3.1 — Subscriptions

Offer your audience a paid Subscription. Pricing is localized for South Africa and displayed in ZAR at checkout, so your subscribers pay a fair, locally-adjusted price:

Subscription South Africa (indicative USD)
Monthly Subscription ~$1.49

3.2 — Tips

Your community can send you one-time Tips, in three fixed amounts, also priced for the South African market:

Tip South Africa (indicative USD)
Spark ✨ ~$0.49
Sun ☀️ ~$1.49
Flame 🔥 ~$2.49

Exact ZAR amounts are shown in-app at checkout and may vary slightly with exchange rates.

4. Revenue Share

Circl operates a transparent, fixed revenue split on all Subscription and Tip income earned by South African creators:

Recipient Share
Apple / Google (store fee) 15%
Circl commission 5%
Creator (net) 80%

Country Managers for South Africa benefit from a reduced 0% Circl commission, as described in the Country Manager Program.

5. Getting Paid in South Africa

5.1 — Payout schedule and minimum threshold

Earnings are calculated and paid out on the 5th of each month, covering the previous month's activity. A minimum payout threshold of $20 (or ZAR equivalent) applies; smaller balances roll over to the next month.

5.2 — How South African creators get paid

South African creators receive payouts via bank transfer or PayPal. Bank transfers are processed through Wise, keeping transfer fees low and predictable — no expensive international SWIFT wires for your day-to-day payouts.

Method Estimated fee
Bank transfer (Wise) ~1.5%
PayPal ~4%

Transfer fees are deducted from your net share (80%) at the time of payout — Circl does not absorb these fees. Your estimated net amount is always shown before you confirm your payout method.
